Classical Dressage

"Training a horse is above all feeling and trying, according to what you feel, to help the horse and not to force him.".

A horse will never tire of a rider who possesses both tact and sensitivity because he will never be pushed beyond his possibilities.".

Nuno Oliveira (1976)

So when he is induced by a man to assume all the airs and graces which he puts on of himself when he is showing off voluntarily, the result is a horse that likes to be ridden that presents a magnificent sight, that looks alert, that is the observed of all observers

Xenophon.

Riding Lessons

From Beginner to Advanced to develop the harmony between horse and rider and to fully appreciate the understanding of classical horsemanship.
Working on the Biomechanics of riding; of how the aids and the seat affects the horse and so by gaining this understanding, developing an independent seat and increasing rider co-ordination.

Lunge Lessons

To develop a correct, classical seat.
It is extremely helpful to spend some time on the lunge so that you can concentrate on your own position and aids more accurately without having to worry about keeping the horse going. This is useful at all levels of training. Lunge lessons are also very beneficial for correcting rider problems.

Work-in-Hand Lessons

Working the horse in hand is so important both as a training aid for the horse and to create spatial awareness with your horse.

Lungeing & Long-Reining

Learn to create an understanding with your horse by working from the ground. Initially lungeing, but developing on to long-reining where lateral work can be taught to the horse. Lungeing and long-reining shows you how the horse is moving, and what you can expect when riding. It creates a greater understanding and bond between horse and rider. Click here to view a slideshow.
